Heating Replacement

Considerations for a Heating Replacement or Upgrade

January 25, 2019

When the time comes to replace or upgrade your heating system, there are several factors to take into consideration. Heating systems are a major investment. Therefore, you’ll want to choose the right system that best fits the needs of your home in Ocala, Florida.

Choose the Right Size

It’s important to choose a furnace that’s properly sized your home. Our service technicians will measure the square footage of your home and calculate the right size furnace for your needs. If the furnace is too big or too small, it won’t heat efficiently. You may find that your home isn’t as comfortable as you would like, and you’ll spend more money on heating bills.

Consider HVAC Zoning

If you have multiple levels in your home or have added rooms, you may wish to have us set up a zoning system. Zoning allows each room or living area in your home to have personal control of the temperature. As a result, you’ll prevent fights over the thermostat and heating empty rooms.

Our service technicians install a series of dampers into the ductwork. The smart thermostat in each room "tells" the sensors in the control panel to open or close the dampers in the ductwork to allow warm air to enter as needed. This gives you greater control over your comfort.

Choose an Efficient Model

If you’re using natural gas or propane to fuel your heater, choose a new furnace with a high Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating. The higher the rating, the more efficient your furnace is at burning fuel. If you prefer to have an electric furnace, consider a ductless heating system. Choose a single-zone ductless system for each room or a multi-zone system for the entire house. Ductless systems are quiet and energy efficient.
